Washington number one in West Asia Super League for round 16

American Guard Deshawndre Washington (201-G) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The player had a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Al-Muharraq (#3, 2-3) 84-83. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Shabab Al Ahli maintains the 2nd position in West Asia Super League . They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Shabab Al Ahli will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Washington had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Shabab Al Ahli's top player in his first season with the team. Former New Mexico State University star has very solid stats this year. Washington is in league's top in points (6th best: 24.0ppg), rebounds (4th best: 11.6rpg), assists (3rd best: 11.4apg) and averages impressive 61.3% FGP and 47.4% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Nick West (210-F-1994) of Al-Muharraq. West had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Al-Muharraq was edged by slightly higher-ranked Shabab Al Ahli (#2, 3-2) 84-83. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Al-Muharraq still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. West is a newcomer at Al-Muharraq, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.4ppg (#5). He also registered 9.6 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Bahrain guard Mustafa Rashed (177-PG-2002) of Al Arabi Club Doha (#3). Rashed scored 29 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Al Arabi, leading his team to a 82-67 easy win against #4 ranked Al Sharjah. The chances of Al Arabi ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rashed could help Al Arabi to bring them higher in the standings. Rashed has a very solid season. In 4 games in West Asia Super League he scored 17.0ppg.
